Even today, 30 years later, I remember how it felt to step off the plane and face Africa for the first time. I was 14 years old and had never travelled abroad before. I still remember the smell of dust and the hot African wind that hit me. Below, several Africans smiled, shook hands and welcomed us. A first encounter with a continent that opened the world to me. I realised then and there that I wanted to do something to change the world, but at the time I didn't know how.
Mid-90s
A passion for environmental management led me to study chemistry, biology and environmental engineering. But as fate would have it, I ended up in the pharmaceutical industry and worked there for several years. It was an instructive time, even if I didn't feel completely at home.
About 10 years later...
But then one beautiful October morning in 2008, I became a mum to an amazing little girl, who I of course wanted to give the best start in life. Then the thoughts came back to what I once experienced and being able to provide security close to my child. It felt natural to get a baby sling and carry in the way I had seen in other parts of the world. In 2008, it was not easy to get hold of a baby sling, the online stores were few and the larger baby stores that existed did not have that type of product in the range yet. This made me think about collecting good products for children myself, all organic and non-toxic in one place.
This was the start of an online store with an organic range for children and through that store Aldoria Baby was invented. Aldoria Baby started with the baby sling Aldoria Bambu Soft and gradually new products have been added. Today, Aldoria Baby is a well-known brand with several retailers in Sweden in several countries in the Nordic region and Europe.
